A Brief Introduction of Indonesian Museum of Ethnobotany (Munasain) That is Inside the Bogor Botanical Gardens
The Indonesian Museum of Ethnobotany is also known as Munasain (Museum Nasional Alam Indonesia) for locals. This museum is relatively new as it was inaugurated in the year 2016 on May 18th. The revitalization was initiated by Prof. Sarwono Prawirohardjo from 1962 and supported by the Directorate of Cultural Heritage Preservation and Museums.
Things You Can See Inside the Museum That You Can Visit While Touring in the Bogor Botanical Gardens Complex
On the first floor, visitors can see an exhibition that presents the history of geology, geography, and biogeography of Indonesia, and human life as well. Meanwhile the ground floor highlights local knowledge and wisdom related to cultivated plants, germplasm, and ethics in managing biodiversity. With 2000 collections of artefacts from all over Indonesia, it can be used as a learning materials of historical values by younger generations.

Even though the Botanical Gardens opens almost everyday including the weekend, it might be more comfortable to visit it in weekdays as it will be less crowded. You can visit it from the morning through the afternoon. For the museum, there is an entrance fee at around 1 USD per pax on weekdays and around 1.25 USD per pax on weekends. The museum opens from 7 AM on weekends and 8 AM on weekdays and will be closed on 4 PM every day.
